With VIMworld now live on BNB Smart Chain, the time has come to migrate your VIMs from VeChainThor to their new home!
We’ve prepared a video to guide you through the process and also described it below for those of you who prefer text.
Connect your wallet
The first step in your journey requires you to connect your wallets! On the VeChainThor blockchain, VIMworld maintains compatibility with Nufinetes, Sync and the VeChainThor mobile wallets.
On BNB Smart Chain, VIMworld is compatible with Nufinetes, Metamask and other WalletConnect compatible wallets. For ease and simplicity, we recommend using the Nufinetes multichain wallet. You can download that here.
Once you have your preferred wallet readied, visit https://vechain.vimworld.com. This is the starting point for your migration.
Connect your wallet by navigating to ‘VIMventory’, and clicking on the wallet icon on the bottom right. At this point, you’ll need to sign in to the site and sign a transaction to authorize access to your wallet.
WARNING TO LEDGER USERS
If using a ledger, you will not innately have access to the same wallet address on BSC that you use on VeChain. Therefore, to avoid needing to compromise your ledger security for a private key recovery operation, use an intermediate wallet in either Sync or Nufinetes to migrate your VIMs. You can transfer back to a ledger compatible MetaMask wallet once your VIMs are on BSC.
Migrating your VIM(s)
To begin the process of migration, head to the VIMventory and click ‘VIM migration’.
From here you’ll be able to select one or more VIMs to send to BSC. You can send all your VIMs in one go or one at a time - it’s up to you!
Note: V1 VIMs will need to be upgraded to V2 in order to be eligible for BSC migration. This can be done from their respective VIM page.
When you’ve finished choosing your VIMs to migrate, click ‘next step’. Confirm the details presented to you, then click ‘next step’ once again. You’ll then be requested to sign the transaction in your wallet. Approve the transaction and send your VIM on its way to its new home!
Once the transaction is complete, you’ll be able to view details in your wallet’s history and be able to verify the transaction was successful.
VIMs will take up to 24 hours to arrive in your BSC wallet. The receiving address will be the same as your starting public address - one of the perks of EVM Compatibility!
Checking for your VIMs on BSC
To check up on your migrated VIMs, visit https://vimworld.com - our new BSC-based site - and connect using your wallet of choice. Make sure you have the network set to BNB Smart Chain!
Navigate to the ‘My NFTs’ section of the website (My NFTs has replaced VIMventory in VIMworld 3.0) and there you should find your migrated VIMs.
Click on your VIM to check its details as well as Feed, Feast, share or withdraw your VEED.
